Call Me Maybe

3 months ago we heard what has to be the best song ever written!!! During these three months, we would randomly make music videos to this song from my camera or webcam. Today I couldn't decide which one was funnier, and thought the funniest would be to mash them all up into one video. If JB can do it, so can we! So here it is all... enjoy!!!!

Whats School?!?!

I love weekends like this! Weekends that make me forget all together that I'm going to school. Weekends that remind me just how awesome my friends are. Weekends that make me remember what its like to have lots of fun!

The weekend started on Friday at exactly 5:30. I had a tutoring appointment at 5:15, but the guy never showed up, so I waited for him for 15 minutes and then turned in a no-show report and officially started my weekend! I went over to Tamazine's house and she made me a delicious dinner. Then we went to see the movie Mirror Mirror. Then when I got home that night I caught up on all my TV shows! Gotta love Hulu!!!

Saturday was just great! I originally planned on spending the whole day in the library, but when it came time to do that, I just really didn't want to! I had to go to the sewing lab and my friend Tamazine thought it would be fun to accompany me! The two of us went together and she kept me company as I cut out the fabric for my shirt. I'm so nervous to sew a shirt, its going to be sew hard! (that was a pun! lol) After that Tamazine and I hung out together the rest of the day. When Bri got off work the three of us and my roommate April all went to Idaho Falls and had a party!!! We went to Denny's for dinner and I had some of the best pancakes in the world! Then we went to the mall, Ross, and Target! It may seem like a really lame night, but for four girls who are stuck in Rexburg where the coolest place to go is Wally World, those stores were pretty awesome!!! Then Tamazine decided to go with us to church in the morning, so we just decided to have a sleepover. We pulled out three different mattresses and lined them up and watched Crazy, Stupid, Love. Such a fun night!

Sunday was another great and relaxing day! Church was amazing, and then I took a nap on one of the mattresses in the living room! Then I had some old friends come over, well they weren't old... they are my age... and I guess we are still friends... so really I just had friends come over! It had just been a while since I have seen them, hence the reason I called them old! haha. Then a friend of mine called me and we talked for a while, we tried to skype/facetime but technology seems to hate us. Luckily our phones worked, and that was just as good! I just love talking on the phones! Texting is super fun, I'm a huge fan as you may recall from this post, but talking on the phone is just so much greater!!! Then after we talked I came to the living room and my roommate and I started Emperors New Grove. Unfortunately I feel asleep pretty early and didn't even get to watch it.

Then I woke up today, really late! Almost in a panic at first, until I remembered that I didn't have school and really didn't have a reason I had to get out of bed. So I had a super lazy morning, wrote in my journal and just listened to music. Then when Bri woke up we went to Costa Vida for breakfast, but since it was 1:00, we counted it as lunch! Then Tamazine and I went to the duck pond and went for a walk, then we made some pizza rolls (with string cheese and pepperoni in crescent rolls). Then I basically destroyed her at a game of Monopoly, and then we made desert rolls, with chocolate chips and marshmallows in crescent rolls! Then we went to see The Lucky One!

Basically, I hate that I have to do homework now and go to school in the morning... I'm not looking forward to the next two weeks because I have SO much to do before I leave for Cali! But it will all be worth it...

Nauvoo Trip

I should have written this blog about a week ago, or posted a blog every night on the trip. But the thing is its just really hard for me to write down all the feelings I had while I was there. I can tell you every place I visited and everything I saw, but I just don't think that would capture the amazing experience I had.

Honestly this was the best trip I have ever been on. Europe was amazing and it was so fun, but this trip was so much more than fun and amazing. It was so educational, historically and spiritually, and I feel like I have changed so much knowing the things that I know.

Before I went on this trip, I would hear the name of cities like Nauvoo, Kirtland, Far West... and so on. I knew what Adam-Ondi-Ahman was, but I could not have imagined what it would be like. I knew that Joseph Smith was martyred in carthage jail, but knowing that fact and actually being in the room where it happened are two VERY different feelings. 

John Taylor is my great-great-great-grandfather. You see, he had a son, who had a daughter, who had my Grandpa Call, who had my mom, who had me! (Cool little family tree if you ask me!) Anyway, being in the jail where he was with Joseph was incredible. Being in his house was incredible. Hearing the stories about him was the best. 

My whole attitude on sacrifice has changed in this past week. I have thought a lot about the "sacrifices" I make in my life. I honestly can't even think of anything that could even closely compare to the smallest sacrifices they made. My friend Mesa and I thought Nauvoo was so cool, and the next day we are pushing handcarts at Martins Cove. We both decided that Nauvoo was much better than the plains with the handcarts, and we decided we would have stayed in Nauvoo. The things they sacrificed to find Zion are just incredible! I have nothing but the highest respect and love for the early saints.

I'm so so so thankful to have been born in this church and in the time frame that I was born in. Honestly, I feel so blessed to have the life I do, and I feel like I will never be able to live up to the lives of these Saints. 

A week before the trip started I had an overwhelming feeling that I needed to go on this trip, and I'm so glad I acted on that feeling. It was the best thing I have ever done! I hope to be able to return to those sites many times in my life.

 Liberty Jail was such a great place to really take in all the blessings that I have in my life, and all the hardships that Joseph and others went through so I could have those blessings.

Far West was a really cool place. One day there will be a temple on these very grounds. 

 Adam-Ondi-Ahman is such a cool place to think about what has happened here and what will soon happen here. Plus, it is simply gorgeous! 

 Like I said above, Carthage was a life changing place to be. I just can't even put into words the feelings I had here.

 I think the Nauvoo temple will always be my favorite part of the trip! There is no wonder the saints didn't want to leave Nauvoo until they had gone through the temple! Amazing things happen in there, and I'm glad I can go in.

Martin's Cove was really cool, pushing handcarts was not easy, and I was doing it with nothing in the cart, and for only about 30 minutes. I can't even fathom doing it for months, in a dress, with weather as crazy as ever. 

Home Alone

This is my best friend. Her name is Bri. I thought I would write a blog about her today!

Brianna Malone is by far the funniest person in the world! I honestly just feel bad for people who aren't friends with her. She just makes me laugh like no one else! Last night she was saying how funny our lives are and how we should have our own reality TV show. I think it would be a big hit! Also I have been thinking about making a twitter account just for #StuffBriSays. I think it would get at least a million followers!!!

Anyway, the funniest thing happened today and I wanted to put it on facebook but decided it was so funny it deserved its own blog. I got home after classes today and decided I would take a little nap. Then Bri comes into our room just as I'm lying down. So we start talking and I'm basically asleep when she asks me when my alarm is set to go off. I tell her 3:30, to which she replies, "UGH, Tara my lab starts at 3:15!" So what, I'm supposed to set my alarm early so that we will wake up at the same time so she can go to her lab! What the heck Bri! So we laugh and laugh about that for a little, and then she decides that she shouldn't take a nap, because if she did she would just be mad to have to wake up and go to Chem Lab. So she tells me we have to get up. "I'm not going to go to sleep, so wake up! Lets go do something!" What the heck Bri! I just really wanted a nap, and she wouldn't let me.

Basically it made us laugh a lot! When I read it back though its not as funny as when it was happening. Sorry if you think its really lame and just wasted your time reading about it!

I wish I could remember every funny thing Bri has said, because you would all just die laughing. Well at least I think you would. Maybe one day we will make that TV show we have been planning and you all can enjoy how hilarious we are! I think our little conversation before my almost nap today totally could have been on a show like Seinfeld, Friends, Happy Endings, or any other show of friends that just do nothing! We are the best! Also we make up awesome songs, like one we call "Pretty pretty please with a cherry on top!"

She is working hard to get me married off to some Idaho boy so I won't go on my mission and stay here in Rexburg. Her words are, "Its fine by me, if you never leave!!!" Sorry to break it to you Bri, but I'm off to Indiana here shortly! But its all good, because we have plans of living together in San Diego when I get off my mish. She is going to be a sports trainer for the Chargers and I am going to be the CEO at one of the hospitals down there, and we are going to have this sweet apartment! Thats if she passes her classes this semester!

p.s. The title is a pun. Sometimes I call her that! lol

4 More Months!!!

In case anyone didn't know... 4 more months from TODAY I go to the MTC! Not that I'm excited or anything.... ;)

In other news, I went to a block party today and this girl Calee Reed sang and she was SO GOOD! And then to end she sang this song, ya know, cuz tomorrow is mothers day! Anyway, I thought it was so good, and I couldn't help but think about how awesome my mom is! I don't think I would be 4 months away from my mission if I didn't have parents as awesome as mine are! Especially my mom! I am so thankful for her! So mom... if you are reading this... I LOVE YOU! Thanks for being the coolest person I know, and the person I look up to the most! I love you like crazy!

Today's Adventures

Last week my religion teacher told us about a school trip to Nauvoo. I thought it would be cool but didn't really give it a second thought, until today. He brought it up again and said they still needed people to sign up. So I asked him about it after class and he gave me a flyer with a number to call. I called, and then I registered, paid, and now I'm going! How crazy am I. We leave next Thursday and get back a week from Monday. I'm going to see Adam-ondi-Ahman, Carthage Jail, Far West, Independence Area, Liberty Jail, Martin's Cove, Nauvoo, and Winters Quarters. The thing I'm most excited about is going to the Nauvoo temple. After I registered I got an email asking me if I would like to attend the temple and do baptisms or a session. Having newly been endowed, I choose the session! I could not be more excited for this trip! I figured because its my last semester at BYUI and it might be the last time I get to do this for as cheap as it is, I should just go for it! And since my class load isn't too bad, its not that hard to just skip out for a week!

In other news, the power went out today all over campus, which at first was really fun and exciting. I was in the middle of my sewing class and just about to start sewing my pj pants when the lights turned off. So we went out in the hall and talked for a while and waited. But the lights never came back on, so we left class about a half hour early! I was super happy, until I realized that just meant I had to go back to the sewing lab later tonight to finish sewing. I went to the library and found a table by a window so I could do some homework. Eventually the power came on, and then I made my way to my last class of the day. But there was only 3 other people there in class. Apparently the teacher is out of town, but didn't tell us last class, but everyone else got the memo. I'm still a little confused about how that happened! Oh well.

I just barely finished my homework for the day, and had about 10 minutes until my tutoring appointment. Thats why I decided to write this little blog about my two adventures of the day! I promise a big blog with lots of pictures soon to come of my big adventures in Illinois! WOOHOOO!!!

Note to Self...

Dear Sewing Teacher,
I know that my pillow case isn't good, but please grade me nicely! I understand that the main portions edge should line up with the hems edge, and I know that mine is about 2 inches off, but sewing is really hard! Please be nice!!!

Dear Devotional,
I'm sorry that I don't attend very often, but today I had to stay on campus anyway, so I decided to come and listen! I'm actually really excited for devo today!

Dear Roommate Bri,
Thank you for being the coolest person in the whole world! Sorry that I complain about a ton of things, and I promise that I don't complain on purpose to make you help me. But I do really appreciate it when you help me! Like when you made my breakfast smoothie this morning, it meant a lot!

Dear Chocolate Blueberry Shake,
You are my most favorite thing in the world. Who would have thought that blueberry yogurt, blueberrys, slimfast (for the chocolate factor), ice and milk would make such a great breakfast drink! I'm a huge fan!

Dear Temple,
I think you already know this, but I love you! Saturday was the most perfect day in the world, and I can't wait to go again... today! After my exam I am going straight to the Rexburg Temple, and I could not be more excited!

Dear Nutrition Exam,
Please be nice! I know I haven't really been doing my homework or the readings for your class... but I do pay attention in class, and I'm hoping thats all it takes to do well on the test.

Dear School,
I know I haven't been putting in a lot of time into you lately. The whole getting my mission call and going to the temple have been a little distracting. I promise for the next 4 weeks I will focus really hard... and then I will take a week off and go to Disneyland! Until then... I promise to focus!

Dear Bowling Class,
I thought the class was supposed to teach me how to bowl better. Before we started instruction, I bowled a 118. But yesterday after I applied all that I have learned in class to my bowling, I bowled an 89... I feel like something is wrong with these numbers!  

Dear Roommates,
Thank you guys for all the nice facebook statuses about how awesome I am! You guys are just so nice! I don't know what I did to deserve roommates as awesome as you guys are!!!

Dear Arizona,
I miss you already, and all the people in you too! As much as I love Idaho, I'm getting REALLY excited to move back to you in July! I have a feeling that its going to be a great summer!

I Love To See The...

Yesterday was the best Cinco De Mayo I have ever had! Okay, it was the best DAY I have ever had! I was fortunate enough to go through the Mesa Arizona Temple yesterday afternoon. I just love the temple, and I'm glad that I could be there with my family and best friends! It was just the perfect day!

Welcome May!

Did I mention that I love this year! I'm pretty sure I will always look back at the year 2012 and think, "Ya, that was my favorite!" So many good things have happened, and so many are yet to come! One really really exciting thing is happening THIS WEEK!!!

My whole life everything I have learned about in church has led me up to this week. All the primary songs, the YW activities, the Relief Society lessons... and everything else has led me up to enter the temple! And today, I got my temple recommend!!! It seems a little unreal, but at the same time, its been 20 years in the making, so I think its time! I just could not be more excited!!!

Other things about this year that I just can't wait for!!!

June- California trip with my entire family! Disneyland here I come!!!
July- Graduate from college! NBD! One Bachelors degree coming up!
August- 21st birthday!!! My mom said we might have to take another trip to Cali! I'm down with that.
September 12th- Enter the MTC!
October- GO TO INDIANA!!! (I think that one is my favorite!)

So yeah, I just love this year!
