Time Flies!!!

Holy Cow,

I can't believe I have been living on my own for 3 weeks as of yesterday! Seriously the time has just flown by! I am doing such a bad job at keeping my journal and blog updated. This is just a quick little thing before I go to class about what usually happens in a day of the life of Tara...

Wake up about 7:30
Get ready and leave for class about 8:45
Classes until 12:30-1:00 (depends on the day)
Lunch at the MC, or maybe my apartment...
HW at the library
Study Groups at the libraray
Meet a tutor at the library (only wednsday and friday!)
Come back to my apartment and finish homework... (well not really finish, homework in college in never really done!)
Then I have dinner, maybe watch a TV show on my laptop, and then check the weather for the next day....
Then I usually go to bed around 11:30-12:00ish...

This is just a rough sketch, since everyday is different. Like today, I have 2 study groups and a tutor, but yesterday, all I had was devotional and the rest of the day went to HW, so ya, its different daily...

But ya, thats basically what I do! And I love it!

New Calling!

So last week I got my first calling in my singles ward. I am the 2nd councilor in the Relief Society Presidency! Its very exciting, but I have a feeling its going to be a very time consuming calling. Already I have gone to like 3 different meetings for it since I have been called a few days ago! But its really cool. We had a leadership training meeting which was way cool, the Stake Relief Society Presidency talked to all of us about the different callings. Then we had a presidency meeting today, and tomorrow we are going around to all 40 girls in our Relief Society to talk to them. There are actually 3 different Relief Society's in our ward, and only 2 Elders Quorums. Sad, I know, but its ok. haha. Other than that, things are the same. I have classes Monday through Friday, today my calculus class was cancelled. Instead of getting a good extra hour in for homework, I called my parents and chatted with them for a good 40 minutes! It was fun, except for when they told me to study... not fun. Then today I wanted to study but my computer was being insane, so I took it to get fixed, and it took a good 3 hours. So I did some homework in the computer lab, and the rest I am saving til the morning. Then FHE tonight was combined with the whole ward, and it was a bbq at the Bishops house in Idaho Falls. I had to drive my roomies out there, its kinda far. Oh well! It was fun! So ya, that's it for now, I will write again when something super fun happens!

Nothing is more important!

Today I had an amazing day. The sister missionary's came by yesterday and told us about a baptism for someone who will be in our ward, and they invited us to come. I told them that I would for sure show up and they asked me to say the opening prayer. I was nervous at first because I couldn't pronounce the persons name who was getting baptised. Bashseas. I figured out how to say it though! Yesterday I also got a call from a girl in my apartment complex who wanted to go but didn't have a way of getting there, and luckily for both of us, I have a car! (THANKS MOM AND DAD!!!) So I went and got her today and we went to the baptism together, and then she ended up giving the closing prayer. There wasn't too many people there, but it was so cool! He was baptised by his roomate and good friend, and when he came up, he said, almost in a tearing voice, "Thank You!" It was so simple, and yet it was so awesome!

After his baptism, Alex, the girl who came with me, asked me what I was going to do next. I told her I was planning on going to to the Rexburg Temple to do baptisms. She had totally planed to do that too, so we went together! It was really busy today, which I really liked. I have gone to the Mesa Temple before and have been in and out in less than an hour. Luckily today I could spend more time there and soak it all in. While I was in the temple, which is gorgeous by the way, they had church magazines to read. I picked up the most recent conference ensign, and read an article by Richard G. Scott about temple worship. He asked the question in his talk, "What is there that is more important than attending and participating in the ordinances of the temple?" While I was sitting in the chapel of the temple, watching the people in front of me go in to the water, I answered his question. Nothing is more important than this right here!

I love that temple, and I love this town. It is truly an answer to my prayers to have ended up here in little 'ol Rexburg! I am so thankful for the church in my life and I am so thankful that I can attend a school that has its focus on the church! I know that the next 4 years are going to be some of the best of my life! :)

First Week of School

So today was my first day of school! But I am going to back up and tell you about yesterday. They had more Get Connected activities, but I didn't feel like going. Instead I went to the bookstore, got a calander and some laundy soap, and found some cute BYU-I clothes but didn't get any. Then I went to lunch with my roomie Katie. The cafeteria here is INSANE! So cool! I really enjoyed it! I also walked around campus and found all my classes, which I was thankful for this morning when I acutally had to go! Then I went to the I-Night Extravaganza! They had a ton of stuff to do, like rock climbing, dunk tanks, tons of random games like DDR and musical chairs, they had inflatable bouncy things, and dating games, speed dating, and a dance in the Hart Building. But the BEST thing was KIRBY HEYBORNE! He did a comedy/concert show, and it was awesome! I was in such a hurry, I forgot my camera... saddest thing ever when he walked out on stage and I reached in my purse and its not in there. But it was ok! I got over it! He was so funny, talking about his wife and kids, and puppy breath... he went on a rant about how puppy breath makes you feel warm, and then he wrote a song about how his wife had puppy breath, like it was litterally right there on the spot that he wrote the song! Anyway, he was funny, and I laughed.

Then today I went to my classes. First was Science Foundations, and then Calculus, and then Healthcare Administration... so far, my favorite is Calc! Not becasue of the subject, but because of the hottie RM named Steve that sits by me! Gosh I hope he never reads this blog! He was so hot, and he talked to me! Then our teacher read a scriputre about putting other people in front of yourself, and he said that is what we need to do in this class. If we help others, then we will do well in the class. Steve wrote that down in his notes, and so Im hoping he remembers that this semester and helps me! :) Like I'm telling you... SO HOT!!!

So hot in fact that I have no idea what we talked about in Heathcare class, cuz I was thinking of Steve....

Anyway, then I went to the cafeteria, by myself, and found some other girl eating by herself, so I asked her if I could eat with her. She was nice and we talked. When she was done eating, the girls at the table two down from me told me I could scoot down and sit by them. So it was pretty awesome! Its so easy to talk to someone you have never met here! Way more easy than I thought it would be!

Then I went to the library where I studied for about 3 hours. I finished my Science homework, and then went to the math lab the get help with Calc. I also signed up for a tutor, if Steve continues to sit by me, I will never learn anything! haha!

So ya, then I came to my dorm and called mom and said HAPPY BIRHTDAY!! Then I checked facebook and Kirby Heyborne commented on my status, becasue it was about him!!! Pretty much made my life! :) Thanks Kirby!

So ya, first day... DONE! Only like a jillion more days til I graduate!

I'm Here!!!

This is just a quick post since I only have about 5 minutes. I made it to BYU-Idaho yesterday. My dorm is great, and so far the girls are great too! We had our I-Team thing yesterday where we met our little group and played games. Then last night we went to a social get-together and played ping-pong and limbo, and just hung out! Today I woke up and organized my room since I never quite got to it yesterday. I will post pictures later, but ya, its pretty awesome looking!

The only bad thing so far is my roomate has a job as a custodian and has to wake up at like 3:30 in the morning, so needless to say I also woke up that early. But I fell right back asleep, so all is well!

We have a devotional with the President today, so I need to go shower and get ready! I will have more for ya soon!

WAY TO GO.... IDAHO!!!!

Ohio Trip #2

So for the last week I had the greatest opprotunity to go to Ohio again, by myself, to be with my sister. I love her babies so much, I can't hardly stand being away from them. When we found out at the beginning of August that we couldn't make it to our cousins wedding in Boston, I relized that I don't know when the next time I will see these children. Then I had a horrible week at work, and decidided to stop working 2 weeks earlier than planned. So I was sittting around the house with nothing to do, all my friends had already moved off to college and I still had 2 weeks, so I thought, might as well spend it in Ohio with my sister! It was great!

First thing Anika did was go through my purse to find my iPod. She likes to listen to the Enchanted Soundtrack!

The first day I got there, the girls already remembered me and loved me! We just hung out and had grilled cheese sandwiches, popcorn, and watched some TV. The next day we took a trip o Kritland Ohio! It was so great! The entire way there the girls were sleeping and Angell and I just chatted the whole way! So Awesome! Once we got there we went to the Historic Kirtland site and had a tour from the sister missionarys there (which I decided would be an AWESOME way to spend a mission!!!) Anika was so cute because every time they would say a word she knew, like Church, Missionarys, Kirtland, or Temple, she would get excited and repeat it back to them. I think everyone on the tour payed more attention to her and Avery than they did the sites, oops! It was so awesome, being in the same room where the Word of Wisdom revelation was given, and lots more. The spirit was there the minute you steped on the grounds there. What an awesome place to be.

The ride home was not as quite as the ride there, I had to reach back every 2 minutes to give the baby a goldfish to keep her quite for 30 second intervals... what fun! But it was still a great trip.
The next day we had plans to take the girls shopping. I had still not gotten ready for the day when Angell had to bring lunch to her husband, so I stayed with Anika. Angell was going to get us afterwards and go shopping... but the storms came in. Holy Cow can it rain in Columbus! Angell had been gone for a while, and Anika and I were just hanging out, and the power went off. On the inside I was freaking out, but had to Anika calm. So everytime we heard thunder we would mimik it... "BOOM BOOM" Needless to say Angell and I didn't go shopping that day!

But that night Angell didn't know what to make for dinner since we were going to have chicken but it hadn't been cold for 4 hours when the power was off, so we went to Red Robin that night! YUMMMMMMMMMMMMM...... haha

The next day Angell and Sean had a meeting in the morning, a baptism in the afternoon, and a temple trip that night, so I got to babysit all day long! It was the best. I made them sandwiches, and for dinner we had spaghetti. We watched Toy Story and a Bugs Life. We played tea party with everyone, ya know.... puppy, bear, pooh bear, other puppy... When I gave Anika crackers for a snack, she put a cracker on each different animal, she is so cute!

When they got home from the temple, Angell took me shopping. We went to the mall and went to a store there called H and M. Angell said it was the only place she shopped in Germany. It was awesome, I bought 3 shirts, 2 pants, 2 scarfs, and 1 jacket! I loved it!

The next day was Sunday, and Angell and Sean have a calling in the Nursery... and let me tell ya, it made me miss my crazy 5 year olds. These children were off the wall crazy! Longest 2 hours of church EVER!!! But it was fun! (kinda)

Before I knew it the trip was over. Well, kinda! Angell didn't have anything to do for the next 2 weeks, so she came home with me, and is hanging out here! We sure do love our daddys job!

I leave on Sunday for Idaho, and until then I can hang out with the babies all day long! I love my family! I sure am going to miss everyone!!!
