The Stone that was Yellow

I went to yellowstone again!!! It was the best day ever! I just love car rides, and I love my roommates, and I love Yellowstone! Its the prettiest place to be! Unfortunately my camera is broken, and I need to buy a new one. So I didn't have a camera to take with me, but my roommate did, and she took some really amazing pictures! So this post is just going to be her pictures! The second picture is awesome because the water behind us is Old Faithful! We saw it go off twice! Made me so happy!!!

Mile High City

So I am in love!!!

A few months back my friend, now my roommate, Tamazine, texted me about going on one of the internship expeditions to Denver with her. I was really excited since I have always wanted to go to Colorado! So I applied and got accepted and this week... I WENT!

Here is how it went down:
Wednesday -4:00am. Woke up, got on the bus, drove to SLC, waited for about 2 hours, flew to Denver, drove another hour to our first appointment, met with the administrator of a Surgery Center, then with the administrator of a OB-GYN office, then to the hotel, walked to Chipotle, went back, fell asleep around 10.

Thursday- 7:00am Woke up, went to 5 different appointments in a row: Flagship Services (a business that works with Medicare), a dentist, a pediatric office, an ear nose throat clinic, and the Tri-County Health Department. Then we had about 2 hours at the hotel, which we walked to Chipotle and brought it back home, and then just watched TV and hung out. Then we had a fireside where this guy talked to us about networking!

Friday - 6:00am. Woke up (isn't it nice to know that I woke up every day, honestly I don't know why I included that each day!) Went to AirMethods (which is an air ambulance company that was freakin sweet!), and then to a rehab center. Then we went to the airport around noon, didn't get on the plane til 2:40, landed right before 4, didn't leave SLC until about 6, stopped at In-N-Out, watched Tangled, then Night at The Museum and finally at 11:00 we made it back to Rexburg!

That was my trip in a nutshell! It was really awesome meeting with so many different companies. Healthcare is such a HUGE field, and I learned that there is so much more than just being an administrator of a hospital or a family practice! I could do so many different things! It got me really excited about my future career, which makes me feel bad, since I should be excited about being a wife and a mother. I'm sure when I am closer to those I will be excited for those too, but I am graduating in 1 year... I need to start thinking about jobs and grad schools now! So exciting!

I really loved Denver! The weather was just so perfect beyond description! I love Gilbert, but the summers can be a little too hot. I love Rexburg too, but the winters are just TOO cold! Want to know what the perfect middle is... DENVER!!! Plus I have never seen so many luxury cars in one place. I don't think me and Christine would fit in that well, but I'm gonna try! Heres to me hoping I can get an internship in Denver and start my 2012 year there!!


Since my camera is broken, I had to stick to Google to supply the pictures of Denver! And just incase you wanted to know where it is, I supplied a map!!!



This was the airport! Probably most confusing, but most awesome, airports I have ever been too!!! (Well, I guess the airport in Athens was a little more confusing since I couldn't read the signs!)

PEMDAS

You know what I learned today... people are idiots! This was on facebook today.



If you can't really see whats going on here, there was a question asked and it was...

1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1-1+1+1+1+1+1+1x0 =____

OVER 1 MILLION PEOPLE SAID IT WAS 0!!! Really?!?!?! 1 million people!!! That just crushes my soul. I think I should have been a math teacher because over 1 million people really don't know the order of operations. I was so mad that so many people said 0 and I was yelling so my roommate told me to blog about it. Let me tell the world how to correctly do the problem.

Their response was, anything times 0 is 0. Well if we do the math correctly, you find that you are not multiplying everything by 0.

Remember PEMDAS!
First step is Parentheses- there is none, so move to the next step.
Exponents- there is none, next step.
Multiplication/Division. Oh look, the last thing is multiplied by 0, so the very last 1x0 = 0. One step done.
Addition/Subtraction. Now we add or subtract the rest.

Well there are a bunch of 1s being added, 1 is subtracted, and then a few more added, and then you get to the last 1x0 which we already solved as being 0. So the answer is 14!

I must have redone my math like 1,000 times to make sure I was doing it right, because over 1 million people did it wrong. I am so embarrassed for the world. There really needs to be better math teachers out there!

Best Day EVER!

So previously I have posted about what would make my Perfect Day! Well today I basically lived the Best Day Ever! Seriously, if I could pick one day to live over and over again, it would be today! So fantastic!

It started at 9 when I got out of the queen size bed in my room at my parents house.

Then I got my swimsuit on and laid out by the pool. Keri came and joined me, and soon we were joined by my dad who brought us breakfast! Nothing better than dunkin doughnuts pool side on a hot June day! Then after about an hour we got in the pool and swam a little bit!

Then I came inside and showered, and right after that Kyle and Nat brought over Abby so I could play with her! While they were over, we watched the movie Les Miserables while eating chips and 5 layer dip! During the movie we had the best time saying things like, "You're In One!" (think of Captain Barbosa telling Elizabeth to start believing in Ghost stories, then think about the actor of Captain Barbosa playing the police men in Les Mis, then you understand why we said that so many times!)

After the movie we went to the new DQ that is opening behind our house. They were having a soft opening today, and since Keri knew like everybody that worked there, we got free food! 4 Blizzards for the price of $0.00. It was like extreme couponing! So awesome!

Then we came home and just hung out until 5. Then we got all dolled up and went to Tempe! We ate dinner at the IHOP next to the Gammage theater. I had the delicious cinn-a-stack pancakes! SO GOOD!!! Then we walked over to the theater for the very reason I flew down to Arizona this weekend...



This play was SO SO SO GOOD!!! I cannot even tell you how much I loved it! I just cannot describe it, it was amazing! 2nd only to my brothers high school production of Dracula! (um, that was a joke!) It was the best! I can't decide if I liked it more than Wicked, because they are both so different. I laughed the entire way through Wicked, and I cried the entire way through Les Mis. SO SO SO GOOD!!!

My favorite song was On My Own! I totally know how that girl feels when she is in love with a guy that loves someone else! But lets not make this about me, haha! The play was amazing, and if you haven't seen it, I think you should do all you can! If you want someone to go with, call me! I will travel a thousand miles (literally) to see this play!

Planner

I had a very funny conversation with a friend of mine the other day. He was stressing about how hard his chemistry class is, and how he has to take the next class next semester! Since registration opened this week, he was telling me how next semester he is taking the next Chem. class, Biology, and Physics, all of which are 4 credits and super hard! And the thought of taking all of them at once was really overwhelming him. As I’m listening to him freak out, I thought… dude, Calm Down!!!

The conversation reminded me of a story I heard once, I think it was in General Conference. I just spent about 30 minutes searching for it though, and I couldn’t find it. But in the story, there is someone who has to undergo a lot of chemotherapy treatments for her cancer. She was saying how she just doesn’t think she can go through 20 or so more. But somebody asked her, “Can you go through just one more?” She said that she thinks she could do one more. The person made his point that she just has to do one at a time. Instead of thinking about everything at once, just take it one treatment at a time, one day at a time. (I really wish I could have found this story, if you know what it is please let me know!)


Then my friend said something that really shocked me. He said… AAHHH… Just make my decision for me! Tell me what to do! The reason that shocked me is because I had JUST asked my parents to tell me what I should do the day before my friend asked me! When he asked me I just laughed at him and said, I can’t tell you what to do! Even though I was mad when my parents didn’t tell me what to do!

He said that he was a planner, and that he needs everything to be planned out. Well I am the same exact way! I have my summer and fall planned out, I know what I want to do in the winter, I just need to find an internship. I know what classes I have to take for next spring, and I have the day to sign up for graduation in my phone so I won’t forget it! Then I plan on going on a mission, coming home and applying to Grad Schools, and then I will graduate with a Masters Degree in spring 2016, and I will only be 24 years old!!! So ya… I’m a planner too! And sometimes thinking about everything I have to do scares me. But if I can just remember to take everyday just one at a time, life would be so much easier. I do not need to stress over things that are not even happening in my life yet! Just like my friend shouldn’t stress about all the classes that he is not even taking yet! I just need to remember that today is Wednesday, and I only need to get done the things on my Wednesday to-do list, not my life-time to-do list!
