Hair color!

So last Friday me and my roomate went to Walgreens and got hair dye and did our hair! I wanted mine to be blonder, so I got a blonder box of hair color, but I was nerous it would be way too blonde, so I didn't use the whole bottle, and I didn't leave it in as long... but anyway, its kinda hard to tell in the pictures, but here are before and afters! :)

So ya, I know I look like a dork, I hate just taking pics of me, but I wanted to see the difference. :) Just thought I would show ya'll!

What is this white stuff....

Im so mad I didn't get any pictures today, but it totally snowed! First snow of the season. I woke up and looked over to see if my roomie was awake, and while I looked over I saw something white outside the window, so I jumped out of bed and looked out the front. It was totally snowing. It snowed continually all morning and stopped during lunch. Then the sun came out and totally melted it all, so I was too late to get pictures. It was unlike anything in Arizona. Ok, I am being overdramatic, I have lived in snow in Massachutes, and I have been in snow all the time in Utah for our skiing vacation, but I am not used to living in it. I had to go to the store today, but waited until all the snow was gone, heck, I don't know how to drive in snow. The guys in my math class said when you step on the brake, you car doesn't stop... SCARY! Anyway, it shouldn't snow for a while now, it was just a random snowy day. The rest of the week should be perfect, partly cloudy with a high of 5o. WHO AM I? I can't believe I just said partly cloudy was a perfect week, this time last year I would have said the perfect weather was a cloudless blue sky day about 90 degrees. But here, I am liking the cold! I like the new clothes I wear here that I would never wear in AZ. I got a really big jacket, and a scarf, and boots! Its so much fun! So ya, next time it snows I will get pictures right away! :)

Time Flies!!!

Holy Cow,

I can't believe I have been living on my own for 3 weeks as of yesterday! Seriously the time has just flown by! I am doing such a bad job at keeping my journal and blog updated. This is just a quick little thing before I go to class about what usually happens in a day of the life of Tara...

Wake up about 7:30
Get ready and leave for class about 8:45
Classes until 12:30-1:00 (depends on the day)
Lunch at the MC, or maybe my apartment...
HW at the library
Study Groups at the libraray
Meet a tutor at the library (only wednsday and friday!)
Come back to my apartment and finish homework... (well not really finish, homework in college in never really done!)
Then I have dinner, maybe watch a TV show on my laptop, and then check the weather for the next day....
Then I usually go to bed around 11:30-12:00ish...

This is just a rough sketch, since everyday is different. Like today, I have 2 study groups and a tutor, but yesterday, all I had was devotional and the rest of the day went to HW, so ya, its different daily...

But ya, thats basically what I do! And I love it!

New Calling!

So last week I got my first calling in my singles ward. I am the 2nd councilor in the Relief Society Presidency! Its very exciting, but I have a feeling its going to be a very time consuming calling. Already I have gone to like 3 different meetings for it since I have been called a few days ago! But its really cool. We had a leadership training meeting which was way cool, the Stake Relief Society Presidency talked to all of us about the different callings. Then we had a presidency meeting today, and tomorrow we are going around to all 40 girls in our Relief Society to talk to them. There are actually 3 different Relief Society's in our ward, and only 2 Elders Quorums. Sad, I know, but its ok. haha. Other than that, things are the same. I have classes Monday through Friday, today my calculus class was cancelled. Instead of getting a good extra hour in for homework, I called my parents and chatted with them for a good 40 minutes! It was fun, except for when they told me to study... not fun. Then today I wanted to study but my computer was being insane, so I took it to get fixed, and it took a good 3 hours. So I did some homework in the computer lab, and the rest I am saving til the morning. Then FHE tonight was combined with the whole ward, and it was a bbq at the Bishops house in Idaho Falls. I had to drive my roomies out there, its kinda far. Oh well! It was fun! So ya, that's it for now, I will write again when something super fun happens!

Nothing is more important!

Today I had an amazing day. The sister missionary's came by yesterday and told us about a baptism for someone who will be in our ward, and they invited us to come. I told them that I would for sure show up and they asked me to say the opening prayer. I was nervous at first because I couldn't pronounce the persons name who was getting baptised. Bashseas. I figured out how to say it though! Yesterday I also got a call from a girl in my apartment complex who wanted to go but didn't have a way of getting there, and luckily for both of us, I have a car! (THANKS MOM AND DAD!!!) So I went and got her today and we went to the baptism together, and then she ended up giving the closing prayer. There wasn't too many people there, but it was so cool! He was baptised by his roomate and good friend, and when he came up, he said, almost in a tearing voice, "Thank You!" It was so simple, and yet it was so awesome!

After his baptism, Alex, the girl who came with me, asked me what I was going to do next. I told her I was planning on going to to the Rexburg Temple to do baptisms. She had totally planed to do that too, so we went together! It was really busy today, which I really liked. I have gone to the Mesa Temple before and have been in and out in less than an hour. Luckily today I could spend more time there and soak it all in. While I was in the temple, which is gorgeous by the way, they had church magazines to read. I picked up the most recent conference ensign, and read an article by Richard G. Scott about temple worship. He asked the question in his talk, "What is there that is more important than attending and participating in the ordinances of the temple?" While I was sitting in the chapel of the temple, watching the people in front of me go in to the water, I answered his question. Nothing is more important than this right here!

I love that temple, and I love this town. It is truly an answer to my prayers to have ended up here in little 'ol Rexburg! I am so thankful for the church in my life and I am so thankful that I can attend a school that has its focus on the church! I know that the next 4 years are going to be some of the best of my life! :)
